We took Ariel to Toys R Us to find out what toys she really wanted for Christmas. Obviously, there are more toys on her list than she really needs, but it was a lot of fun finding out what toys really interest Ariel.
Connect 4
Dora Game House
Elefun
Lucky Ducks
Little Mermaid Game
Mouse in the House - not at Amazon, but saw it at Toys R Us, pretty sure it was a game.
Spirograph - Mommy's note: Lots of bad reviews on this one, but she wants it listed.
Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Crazy Cuts Playset
Backyard Safari Bug Vacuum
Pterodactyl by Animal Planet - Can't find it online, but it was a rubbery pterodactyl Ariel had lots of fun with in the store. Probably would only play with it a short time in reality, but she keeps going on about wanting it, so I could be wrong.
Rocket USA Bozo Bop Bag
Dress Up Clothes - Just about any sort. Ariel has a Cinderella one that is in pretty poor shape, a Disney "Fairies" dress, will be getting a pink princess dress from Mommy and Daddy (good thing she can't read this yet, huh?).
Magic Hair Fairytale Dora
- Mommy's rolling her eyes at the price on this one.
Dora Bike
- Not sure which height we looked at, but this one looks right. We're thinking more birthday than Christmas for this, but might change our minds.
Absolutely, Positively Alexander
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
Dora's Fairy-Tale Adventure
We haven't spent much time at the bookstore yet, so this list is pretty short.
Fox and the Hound
Swan Princess
Over the Hedge
Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Tarzan
The Muppet Show - Season One
Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Curious George
Ice Age / Ice Age 2: The Meltdown - (DVD 2-Pack)
Ariel is currently size 4, but has plenty in that size, so size 5 is better.
Since I haven't started Gage's site yet, I'll list the things he found fascinating here too.
Construction toys and dinosaurs seem to be the big hits right now, so long as there aren't scary noises involved.
Animal Planet Dino Valley Prehistoric Playset - not the set we saw at Toys R Us, but the closest I see online. Animal Planet is the right brand, but the box had more dinosaurs in it.
Little Tikes Mulching Mower
- Gage loves anything he can push.
LIttle Tikes Electronic Drum Set - Daddy's idea, and Gage rather seemed to like it. He loves music and pounding on things.
Tuff Rumblin Truck by Fisher Price - Not on Amazon.
Ball Toyz - 100 Brightly Colored Ball Pit Balls
- Surprise, surprise, he gets obsessed with these at his gymnastic classes.
Tonka Toughest Mighty Truck - One of the many construction toys he was fascinated by.
Blue Man Group Percussion Tubes Music Station - Who was having more fun with this one... Gage or Daddy? It was hard to say. A little pricey for a toddler, though.
Gage still wears mostly size 12 months, but we have enough of those. Size 18 or 24 month is a good idea, and with pants in particular remember her's very skinny. Many of the 12 months pants still slip off him when he walks.
